The 30th Space Wing will host a 9/11 remembrance ceremony Thursday, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. in Chapel 1 on Vandenberg Air Force Base. The guest speaker is U.S. Air Force Col. Tina Wyant, 14th Air Force, who was in the Pentagon on that day.

"As we come together to mark the 13th year of this tragic event,
we shall not forget that our people, communities and nations are stronger
than fear; our shared values and partnerships remain resilient and strong,"
said Col. Keith Balts, 30th Space Wing commander. "The commitment to
service before self in our firefighters, police, first responders and
military will leave a legacy which makes 9/11 a remembrance, not only a
sacrifice, but a triumph of good over evil."

The ceremony will include comments from Lt. Col. Glenndon Page,
30th Space Wing chaplain, a memorial video, and a remembrance prayer
followed by a moment of silence.
