Vandenberg Airman found dead Published Dec. 2, 2013 By 011213 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- An Airman assigned to the 30th Space Wing here was found dead in their home Nov.26 morning. The Lompoc Police Department and emergency response teams positively identified the individual as deceased and turned the body over to the county coroner's office to investigate the cause of death. "My heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of this Airman," said Col. Keith Balts, 30th Space Wing commander. "Our focus now is to make sure that this Airman's family is taken care of and all resources are made available to those who wish to utilize them during this tough time." The name of the deceased is being withheld until 24 hours after next of kin notification. More information will be released as it becomes available.
