VANDENBERG LAUNCHES ANOTHER MINUTEMAN III TEST MISSILE Published Sept. 26, 2013 By 060913 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- An unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile was launched during an operational test at 3:33 a.m. here Thursday from Launch Facility-9 on north Vandenberg. Col. Brent McArthur, 30th Space Wing vice commander, was the launch decision authority. "It is so exciting to see our mission in action," said McArthur. "We have the potential to launch three times this week, and the last time we did that was back in July of 2004. I am proud of this team. Everyone came together despite the challenges thrown our way to support a second safe and successful launch this week, and nine so far for the year."
