Minuteman III launch scheduled Published Sept. 19, 2013 By 010913 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- An operational test launch of an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile is scheduled for Sunday between 3:01 and 9:01 a.m. from Launch Facility-10 here on north Vandenberg. Col. Keith Balts, 30th Space Wing commander, is the launch decision authority. "2013 has proved to be a busy year for the Western Range," said Balts. "Whether we are supporting a mid-morning launch of a Delta-IV or an early morning Minuteman III launch, public safety is always our number one priority."
