  • Vandenberg's Efforts in Keeping Our Beaches Clean

    Vandenberg Space Force Base is home to multiple beaches with a wide variety of wildlife, plant life and beautiful scenery. With these beaches comes the environmental responsibility to keep them clean and safe not only for the public, but for the planet as well. Staff Sgt. Lacey Dixon, 30th Security Forces Squadron NCOIC of the Visitor Control Center, recently held one of the many beach cleanups Vandenberg members participate in to keep our beaches and the life within them safe.

    One primary aspect of launches is safety. To help avoid possible injuries or dangerous situations, routines are set in place to protect the base and the community before every launch. The mastermind behind it all is Tech Sgt. Andrew McKenzie, non-commissioned officer in charge of Launch Operations Support.

  • The Newest Branch to Receive CACs

    The 30th Force Support Squadron Military Personnel Flight is now issuing Common Access Cards or “CACs” at Vandenberg Space Force Base for Space Force members. “We work directly with AFPC right now since we are in the baby steps of the Space Force CAC roll out,” said 2nd Lt. Gabrielle Prentice, MPF Officer In Charge. “We make five cards per week until the full roll out starts hopefully in the next couple of months and we’re waiting on word to when that will happen.”
