  • 30th CES Firefighters Don the JFIRE, Conduct Live Fire Training

    The J-FIRE, or joint firefighter integrated response ensemble, is a unique set of equipment that firefighters wear when responding to chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) emergencies. These firefighters have to be qualified and trained to use this gear, and at Vandenberg Space Force Base, they don the J-FIRE annually. Tech. Sgt. Marvin Lilly, the NCOIC of Logistics here at Vandenberg Fire and Emergency Services, is the lead for this iteration of the training.

    Members of Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., celebrated Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, also known as Lab Week, April 21 through 27, 2019. Lab Week is an annual observance to spread awareness and show appreciation to medical laboratory professionals and pathologists for the work they do to assist patients. This year’s Lab Week theme for the 30th Medical Support Squadron Laboratory was “Launching Rockets, One Test at a Time.”
