Some say everything is bigger in Texas, and it seems that the coordinators of the 24th annual Texas Blowout event on Aug. 10 at Cocheo Park here have taken that to heart.

The 2012 Texas Blowout featured numerous family-fun activities including a silent auction, rock climbing wall, bouncy castle, gift baskets, games, car show, a cow pie throwing contest, and a barbecue.

"This is the best turnout (for the Texas Blowout) most people remember seeing in years," said Capt. Daniel Shimonsky, 532nd Training Squadron instructor supervisor and event coordinator. "None of this would be possible without the support of the 30th Space Wing."

This family-oriented event, hosted by the 392nd Training Squadron, was jam-packed with events for the youngsters and the young at heart.

"It is a great event to get the kids out of the house and play," said Mandi McCullion, Texas Blowout participant and Team V spouse. "There is a lot of stuff for everyone to do; my son, Eagan, loves the bounce house."
