VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Members of the Virginia Spaceport Authority pose for a group photo during a tour at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., April 8, 2026. The visit included a stop at one of Vandenberg’s Ground Based Interceptor sites, where the VSA team received a briefing on installation capabilities that support national security space and missile defense operations.
The tour followed the VSA team’s support of a Northrop Grumman Minotaur IV launch carrying the Space Test Program S29A (STP-S29A) mission from Space Launch Complex 8 on April 7, 2026. The VSA, based at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at Wallops Island, Virginia, provided launch site support throughout the mission, marking their second supported launch at Vandenberg.
Engagement like this strengthens collaboration between range and spaceport partners, enhancing the ability to support an increasing launch cadence and evolving mission requirements. Through continued coordination across multiple sites, Vandenberg advances its role as a premier spaceport and test range, enabling launch, test and missile defense operations.
