Six Vandenberg Space Force Base honorary commanders visited Vandenberg SFB for a monthly mission insight tour designed to provide a deeper understanding of how the installation’s units support the Space Launch Delta 30 mission. During the visit, participants observed operations at a 30th Operations Support Squadron weather balloon station, where personnel collect atmospheric data used to support and ensure mission safety.

The group also observed a 30th Security Forces Squadron military working dog demonstration, highlighting the critical role 30 SFS plays in protecting personnel, resources, and mission-critical assets. These capabilities contribute to maintaining installation security and ensuring mission readiness across Vandenberg’s operations.

The honorary commanders program connects community leaders with installation leadership to foster mutual understanding and transparency. Managed by the Space Launch Delta 30 Public Affairs office, the program provides participants with firsthand insight into Vandenberg’s  mission while strengthening partnerships between the base and surrounding communities.
