  • 533rd TRS transitions to STAR Delta Provisional

    After 26 years of training and 78 years of Air Force heritage, the 533rd Training Squadron transferred from the Air Education and Training Command to Space Training and Readiness Delta Provisional on Sept. 1, 2020, at Vandenberg Air Force Base. The Sentinel-6 is the first of two identical satellites to head into Earth orbit five years apart to continue sea level observations for at least the next decade.

  • VAFB launches into a new era, welcoming USSF inductees

    On Sept. 1, 2020, at the Base Flag Pole in front of the Headquarters’ Building, 21 officers and enlisted members at Vandenberg Air Force Base joined the United States Space Force during the ceremonial induction tradition. The ceremony followed the time-honored military tradition as the officer and enlisted members affirmed their commitment to the armed services by taking either the Oath of Office or the Oath of Enlistment.
