  • VAFB know your mil

Before hitting the ground in an operational setting, newly selected United States Space Force Space Operator officers arrive at Vandenberg Air Force Base, where they will attend Officer Undergraduate Space Training at the 533rd Training Squadron. Currently, the first batch of Space Force officers are at the school house awaiting the beginning of their careers, in the brand new Space Force. • 40 years of Civil Service and a life of fortune

“I’ve been very fortunate to have done what I’ve done and to have had great people to work with. The relationship between a Base Civil Engineer, which is dual hatted as the CE commander, and the Deputy is a very special one, and it has to be,” said Richard Cote, 30th Civil Engineer Squadron deputy commander. “We have to work very closely together, so there has to be that bond that, in fact, does last a lifetime. I cannot thank [all the commanders I have worked with] enough for the positive impact they’ve had on my life.”
  • Summer is peak season for military moves

It’s that time again. Historically, May through August is the peak season for both military and civilian personnel re-assignment. There are no guaranteed dates when it comes to having personal property packed and picked up during peak season due to certain conditions such as a decline in moving companies’ capacity, DoD budget cuts and other possible government inconveniences. The sooner you start working with the local Traffic Management Office the greater your chances of getting your desired pack out date.
