  • Vandenberg Fire Department aids during Alisal Fire

    The 30th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department provided assistance to contain the Alisal Fire which started Oct. 11, 2021, at Los Padres National Forest in Goleta, Calif. The fire consumed approximately 17,000 acres of land, leading to the evacuation of hundreds of nearby residents and ranchers.
  • Annual DoD Housing Survey underway for tenant feedback

    The Department of the Air Force is asking tenants of privatized housing to share their experiences and opinions of the programs via the DoD Tenant Satisfaction Survey beginning Oct. 28. The survey, administered by CEL & Associates, Inc., will be made available through an email link to all Vandenberg Space Force Base residents between Oct. 28 and Dec. 13. The OMB Control Number is: 0704-0553. The Department of the Air Force is funding the survey, and CEL & Associates is an independent third-party provider.

  • CSpOC offers opportunity for deeper understanding of allied partners

    With more than 15 exchange and liaison officers assigned to various units across Vandenberg SFB, there is a good chance that U.S. military and civilians here will have the opportunity to interact with and work side-by-side with them at some point. To help introduce the international officers to a greater number of people here and increase understanding of what they do as part of the space enterprise, the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC) held a “Coalition All Call” on base Oct. 15.

  • A Partner in Battle and a Furry Companion

    Nothing in this world can compare to the bond between humans and their animals. There is a special connection people have with their beloved animals that is wildly unique and can never be replicated. For U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Joseph Tejada, 30th Security Forces Squadron alpha flight sergeant, he had a connection that was stronger than most. Military Working Dog Sam and Tejada were an inseparable duo and had a bond no time or distance could ever break.
