Vandenberg Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team Hosts Recruitment Event

Vandenberg Explosive Ordnance Disposal team hosted Air Force Special Warfare recruiting at their facility to showcase the career field to the next generation of warfighters, March 17, 2026. As part of 30th Civil Engineer Squadron, EOD provides emergency response capabilities for the mitigation of explosive hazards.

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Anthony Griffin, Air Force Special Warfare scout, spoke to candidates of the Delayed Entry Program, informing them on career opportunities and proper exercise techniques. Tech. Sgt. Charles de Guia, 30th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal logistics noncommissioned officer in charge, utilized a manned transportable robotic system during the showcase of EOD equipment. Senior Airman Duane Smith, 30th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician, inspected and prepared a defusal device prior to an improvised explosive device demonstration. Senior Airman Dylan Hughes, 30th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician, showcased EOD equipment, informed candidates and personnel about EOD procedures and techniques, and described the strict standards in protecting the safety of Vandenberg personnel and assets. 

Vandenberg EOD personnel showcased robots, bomb suits, response vehicles and special equipment. The event brought awareness of the EOD flight’s capability and techniques to interest potential candidates. Recruitment events like these showcase Vandenberg’s commitment to supporting morale and warfighter readiness.
