  • 30th CES Firefighters Don the JFIRE, Conduct Live Fire Training

    The J-FIRE, or joint firefighter integrated response ensemble, is a unique set of equipment that firefighters wear when responding to chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) emergencies. These firefighters have to be qualified and trained to use this gear, and at Vandenberg Space Force Base, they don the J-FIRE annually. Tech. Sgt. Marvin Lilly, the NCOIC of Logistics here at Vandenberg Fire and Emergency Services, is the lead for this iteration of the training.

  • 614th Air & Space Communications Squadron redesignated as 65th Cyber Squadron

    The U.S. Space Force conducted a relinquishment of command, redesignation, and assumption of command ceremony for the 614th Air and Space Communications Squadron and 65th Cyber Squadron on June 23, 2021, at Vandenberg SFB. In front of an audience at the Combined Space Operations Center, Lt. Col. Jontae McGrew relinquished command of the 614th ACOMS, which fell under Space Delta 5, followed by the redesignation of the squadron as the 65th CYS, which will now fall under Space Delta 6.
