  • Adapt and overcome; 30th SFS protects VAFB amidst COVID-19

    As a means to help “flatten the curve” and stop the spread of COVID-19, the 30th Security Forces Squadron has increased their security procedures in accordance with the base health protection measures to keep, not only themselves, but the members of Vandenberg Air Force Base, safe during the pandemic.
  • The mission goes on; one meal at a time

    In the face of a global pandemic, the stress of COVID-19 has not stopped the mission at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Units from across the installation continue to provide support in order to take care of the well-being of Airmen and their families to ensure essential operations remain unaffected.To help provide that support, the 30th Force Support Squadron and the Defense Commissary Agency team have been at the forefront of maintaining mission readiness for the base by providing healthy meals and services.

  • Vandenberg all call addresses future of space

    Members from the 30th SW gathered to listen as Mastalir and Hogan discussed information about the United States Space Force and what that means for the installation and members assigned. They also addressed upcoming improvements and upgrades across the base to include facilities, equipment and quality of life.
  • VAFB implements base access to disabled veterans

    Veterans who have been granted a Veterans Affairs disability rating from 1 to 99 percent, as well as their caregivers, are now authorized to obtain an installation access card.
  • The fabrication of space

    As the need for space superiority continues into a new decade, training and education will lay the foundation for building up future leaders in the U.S. Space Force. Within the 30th Operations Support Squadron is a shop whose core mission is to create high quality training tools and devices for the space and missile community. The Training Device Design and Engineering Center has a long tradition of building training tools and devices at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Established in 1958, TDDEC began their mission during the early years of U.S. Air Force launch vehicle testing. For the past 62 years, expert technicians at TDDEC have been designing and fabricating a variety of scale models, mockups, device prototypes, interactive simulators and one-of-a-kind tools all aimed at improving education and training.

  • Vandenberg Airman takes silver in 2019 Military World Games

    Two Airmen from Vandenberg Air Force Base participated in the 2019 Military World Games, officially known as the 7th CISM (Council International du Sport Militaire) Military World Games Oct. 18–27, 2019 in Wuhan, China.
  • Leadership Excursion; History in all terrain

    Members from 30th Space Wing visit different sections of the base Nov. 4, 2019, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. The purpose of the tour was for the 30th Security Forces Squadron to show base leadership specific assets, historical sites and remote areas on base. These areas included historical landmarks, such as Chumash paintings, buildings from early 1900’s, and a shelter that families would use during launches.
